Technics, the renowned brand for turntables, has announced a new addition to its line of direct-drive turntables: the SL-1200GR2. This next-generation turntable promises improved performance and technology, including the newly developed ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive) and noise-canceling features. The motor control signal has been improved, which results in a more precise and accurate sound stage with less noise.
The SL-1200GR2 is an update to the world-famous SL-1200/1210GR turntable and will be delivered in eco-friendly cardboard packaging. The SL-1200GR2 will be available in two colors, silver, and black, starting in December 2023 at a retail price of $2,199.99 / £1,799 / €1,999.
In addition, Technics recently introduced a new matte white finish for its SL-1500C model, which the company claims highlights the turntable’s “pure and simplistic aesthetic” while emphasizing only the essential operational elements.
