Technics has announced an exclusive all-vinyl performance by ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U as part of its campaign celebrating the 55th anniversary of the SL-1200 turntable series.
Filmed at Tokyo Tower, the set will premiere for free on Resident Advisor’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, August 18th, at 4 PM UTC. The performance forms part of the brand’s ‘THE LEGEND KEEPS SPINNING’ campaign, which looks ahead to the turntable series’ anniversary in 2027.
First introduced in 1972, the direct-drive SL-1200 became a standard fixture in DJ culture, with worldwide shipments exceeding 3.5 million units.
Alongside the performance, Technics will publish an interview with ¥UK1MAT$U focused on his relationship with records, vinyl DJing, and the format’s continued relevance.
