Ten City returns with ‘Be Free’ after 25 years of absence

The group presents a new song via Ultra Music.

2021 is a year of new beginnings for Ten City, a dance music group formed in 1987. Now, Byron Stingily (lead singer and songwriter) and renowned electronic music producer Marshall Jefferson are returning with new music after a 25-year absence.

The band, known for songs like ‘That’s The Way Love Is’ and ‘Devotion’, return with ‘Be Free’, a track with their characteristic style. Packed with a funky bassline and sparkling trumpets, the track is a perfect hybrid of house and disco. Always using its own instrumentation, Ten City stays true to its soul, disco, and deep house roots.

‘Be Free’ brings a message of inclusion. Stingily’s lyrics remind us that we are all equal, that we all deserve freedom and we deserve to be respected. House music from its inception has always brought people together, created in the Latino, Black, and LGBTQ + scenes in early Chicago always set out to send a message of unity, which is particularly meaningful for our time.
