The Chemical Brothers launch ‘Radio Chemical’

The first broadcast took place on March 5th.

While still unable to tour, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, better known as The Chemical Brothers, have decided to get into a new musical project called ‘Radio Chemical’, a series of mixes in which the couple will explore different musical genres.

Broadcasted via Sonos Radio, the collection began on March 5th with a ‘Dub Mix’, a set in which they channel their love of dub music. ‘It’s where the origin of the drum & bass is, and the main instrument is the mixer, where a delay turning on itself can be as exciting as a heartfelt letter’, they say on the press release. ‘A lot of this music pushes the boundaries of what can be done with a multitrack and the application of echo, eq, and phase. It is a constant inspiration for us of what is possible in the studio and the myriad ways that you can find to perform a song’.

Sonos Radio archives its broadcasts on Mixcloud, so you can listen to this first episode of ‘Radio Chemical’ in full below.
