Ibiza-based jazz-funk collective The Illusions are set to release their debut album, ‘Find Your Way’, on June 18th, 2026. The seven-piece group blends funk, jazz, soul, Afro-influenced rhythms, electronica, and hip hop influences into a sound shaped by years of live performance and improvisation on the island.
Formed at WOM Radio Café in Santa Eulària by Antonio Blakstad and Pere Navarro, the project gradually expanded into a full band featuring Antonio Prosper, Katanna McKenzie, Arturo Garcia, Toni Mari, Franco Botto, and Navarro. Their debut LP was mixed and produced by Nathan Haines, whose involvement brings additional depth to the record’s live-focused approach.
The album includes original compositions such as ‘Juju Mellow’, ‘The Stream’, and ‘Slow It Down’, reflecting the group’s diverse musical identity while offering a perspective on Ibiza beyond its club culture. Lead single ‘Juju Mellow’, released earlier this month, showcases the ensemble’s tight rhythm section, layered percussion, and vibrant horn arrangements.
To mark the release, The Illusions will make their UK debut at EartH Hackney in London on June 19th, joining Nathan Haines and his band for a special album launch event. The evening will also feature a DJ set from Giles Smith.
Speaking about the project, Antonio Blakstad said: “This project has grown organically from the island, from playing together, learning from each other, and finding a shared sound. The album is a reflection of that journey, and we’re excited to bring it to London.”
