Turkish music venues unite to help with earthquake relief efforts

By operating as warehouses to store and dispatch supplies.

Following the two earthquakes that impacted the south-eastern region and parts of northern Syria, the Turkish electronic music community has come together to aid relief efforts.

Many venues, including Kite, Klein Phönix, MiniMusikhol, and RX Istanbul, are currently functioning as warehouses, storing and dispatching supplies to the areas in need.

The earthquakes occurred last Monday, February 6th, reaching a magnitude of 7.8 and 7.7 on the Richter scale, having a catastrophic effect on the Turkish areas of Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, and Gaziantep; and the Syrian regions of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, and Tartus.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that over 21,000 people have died, and estimates many more could lose their lives without the right supplies and proper medical attention.

Here are some charities to support:

Syrian American Medical Society

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency

International Rescue Committee

Islamic Relief
