Brazilian duo Ubaruh has unveiled its debut album, ‘Hey, Ubaruh!’, marking a new chapter for the project formed by longtime collaborators Phillipi Alves and Emmo Martins. Released via Partyfine, the LP expands on the pair’s blend of psychedelic house, nu-disco, and organic instrumentation.
Across the record, Ubaruh combines live bass and guitar performances with percussion-driven arrangements, pop and R&B-inspired vocals, acid sequences, and club-focused production. Drawing inspiration from Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms, the album balances dancefloor energy with a more contemplative listening experience.
The project follows a series of releases including ‘Pinche Funky Disco’ on Multi Culti, ‘Ubaruh Theme’ on Partyfine, and the duo’s ‘Onda Frisson’ EP on Cocada Records, which featured collaborations with Castello Branco and percussionist Arlen Ribeiro, alongside remixes from Yuksek and Xique-Xique.
Focus track ‘Baila Dance’ sees Ubaruh push further into club territory, pairing live instrumentation with Arlen Ribeiro’s percussion work for one of the album’s most dancefloor-oriented moments.
