‘Underplayed’, a new documentary that focuses on the role of women in dance music

TOKiMONSTA, Nervo, Alison Wonderland, and more will feature on-screen.

On September 19th, the Toronto International Film Festival will premiere ‘Underplayed’, a new documentary that focuses on the existing sexism in the world of electronic dance music.

Directed by Stacey Lee and produced by Bud Light Canada, alongside Director X and Taj Crichlow, the film aims to highlight the supporting role of female producers and DJs in the club music industry. The documentary features artists such as REZZ, Alison Wonderland, TOKiMONSTA, Nervo, Sherelle, Louisahhh !!!, Anna Lunoe, and TYGAPAW, as they share their life experiences and the problems they have had to face in their career.
