OLAN, the indie electronic live act and DJ created by songwriter and producer Luzana Flores has just released her sophomore album, ‘Floating Worlds’ via QRTR’s .WAVCAVE label.

‘Floating Worlds’ showcases a collection of entirely original productions by OLAN. The album features singles such as ‘Faster Than Sound,’ ‘If You Need Me,’ and ‘Warm To The Touch,’ each reflecting different aspects of her personal and artistic growth.

Inspired by her tour with ODESZA and their supportive community, OLAN crafted ‘Floating Worlds.’ Drawing on the concept of “liminal space” from the book House of Leaves, the album charts a journey from existential crisis to finding fulfillment in life’s simpler joys.

“This album as a whole has been a way for me to confront any grief or disappointment I experienced in the last four years,” OLAN explains. ‘Floating Worlds’ literally refers to how unreliable and flaky our existence can be. As the album took shape, I started to realize I wasn’t alone in what I was feeling. That didn’t justify anything, but not feeling alone meant there’s a way to cope.”

OLAN’s music fuses melodic house, breakbeat, downtempo, and UK garage, drawing inspiration from artists like Bonobo and SBTRKT. Her musical journey began in church and evolved when she moved to Las Vegas at 21 to launch her project, blending DJ sets with R&B and garage-influenced live shows. Her career flourished through collaborations with Janelle Monáe’s and Dreamville’s writing teams, as well as involvement in Las Vegas’ DIY scene. This led to her debut album ‘Contra’ on Anjunadeep. Also gracing major festivals and venues, including Electric Forest, Ultra, Red Rocks, and Printworks. Her collaboration with QRTR on the ‘Control’ EP secured her a spot on ODESZA’s ‘The Last Goodbye’ stadium tour.
