Beatport has updated its content policy to exclude music that is fully generated or created by artificial intelligence from its catalog.

The company’s June 29th update lists AI-generated music among the types of content it does not want distributed through the platform. The same document also rejects unauthorized remixes, mashups, unofficial soundalikes, low-quality recordings, and misleading or duplicated metadata.

Beatport’s terms and conditions add that content suspected of being AI-generated may be removed without warning. The policy places responsibility on suppliers to ensure that submitted releases meet the platform’s standards and that all necessary rights have been cleared.

The move arrives as electronic music platforms continue to define how synthetic content should be identified and handled across digital catalogs.
