EG.1019 Axel Boman

“I made this mix with a dancefloor in mind, how I dream it to be, jumping between genres, sprinkled with some cheeky curveballs, adding some electro but mostly playing deep and thumpin’ house music” – Axel Boman

Axel Boman’s venture into electronic music began in Stockholm’s small but vibrant scene in the early 1990s. In 2010, he dropped the screw house anthem ‘Purple Drank’ via DJ Koze’s Pampa Records, which led to his international breakthrough. Known for his creative direction and A&R work, he co-founded Studio Barnhus that same year—a pivotal Stockholm label, music studio, and creative collective—together with Petter Nordqvist (Petter/Pedrodollar) and Kornél Kovács.

Boman’s distinctive sound blends dub influences with house and techno, and his productions are noted for an inventive use of space and rhythm. Much of his work highlights his evolving style and has earned widespread recognition. Meanwhile, his openness to collaboration has proven fruitful: being one half of the Talaboman project with John Talabot, for instance, underlines his commitment to musical exploration, tireless work ethic, and enduring passion for music.
