EG.1050 Thylacine

Thylacine is the project of French producer and composer William Rezé, an artist whose work is closely tied to movement, place, and lived experience. Rather than building music in a fixed studio setting, Thylacine is known for creating records while traveling, letting geography, people, and circumstance shape the final result.

He first gained wide attention with Transsiberian, an album written and recorded while crossing Russia on the Trans Siberian Express. The project marked a turning point, leading to millions of streams worldwide and sold out concerts across Europe and the United States, including recent headline shows at La Seine Musicale in Paris for an audience of over fourteen thousand people.

For Roads Vol. 3, Thylacine spent three months traveling through Namibia, working closely with local musicians and learning traditional instruments along the way. The album reflects encounters, friendships, and observations gathered during that journey, shaped by Namibia’s vast deserts, coastal regions, and layered history. Rather than documenting places directly, the music captures moments and emotions collected on the road, continuing Thylacine’s ongoing dialogue between travel and sound.

EG.1050 presents Thylacine in a format that mirrors his approach, personal, exploratory, and rooted in real experience.
