With support from platforms such as BBC Radio 6, XLR8R, and Bandcamp, his work continues to evolve through a balance of club functionality and introspective detail.
Now returning with his latest single ‘Daffodil,’ the artist leans further into an instinctive process. Created in a single session, the track reflects a shift toward immediacy, capturing a raw and unfiltered approach to production while maintaining his signature sense of restraint.
In this conversation, Autow Nite Superstore opens up about the mindset behind the release, his evolving workflow, and navigating a fast-paced creative landscape.
EG: Hi, Thomas! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been doing?
Autow Nite Superstore: I’ve been good! Trying to stay a bit offline, finish things properly, and not rush anything.
EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your new single, ‘Daffodil’. You must be amped to share this one. What has the initial reception been like so far?
Autow Nite Superstore: Thanks! It’s been interesting more than anything. It’s still very early, so I haven’t really tried to read into it, like I tend to put something out and move on quite quickly.
EG: So, what can fans expect to find on ‘Daffodil’? How would you describe this new cut? Is there a concept or emotional trigger behind this piece?
Autow Nite Superstore: I don’t really think in terms of expectations. It’s a bit tense, slightly unresolved. The name leans one way, the sound leans another, and that tension was enough, more like “you must believe in spring” kind of.
EG: We know ‘Daffodil’ came about in a single studio session. What happened that day? Is this something you experience often?
Autow Nite Superstore: Yeah, it was one of those days where you don’t overthink anything. No references, no “this should sound like”, just following whatever felt right and didn’t touch it too much after. It doesn’t happen often. Most tracks are moving slower, more frustrating, but when it clicks, it clicks fast.
“I don’t really think in terms of targets. I just trying to stay consistent, keep the work honest, and not rush things for the sake of being visible”
EG: What would you like listeners to take away from this piece? In your head, what would be the ideal setting to appreciate ‘Daffodil’ fully?
Autow Nite Superstore: It probably makes more sense late afternoon, in-between places, not fully paying attention.
EG: Speaking about releases…your last full-length studio LP, ‘Running Towards the End of the Light’, was released in 2024. Are there any plans for a future album? What ideas or concepts would you like to explore next?
Autow Nite Superstore: There will be another album, but right now, I’m not in a rush. Albums still matter to me, so I don’t want to treat them like content. For me, it’s more like a form of meditation, and finding the right space and timing for that isn’t always easy. It’s slower, but it feels more honest that way.

EG: On to a broader subject…What would you like to accomplish as an artist this year? Is there something “tangible” that you’d like to go for?
Autow Nite Superstore: I don’t really think in terms of targets. I’m just trying to stay consistent, keep the work honest, and not rush things for the sake of being visible.
EG: What are some of the challenges artists will face in the near future? What advice would you give to your colleagues? What would you like to see more and less of?
Autow Nite Superstore: I think everything is getting easier to make, but harder to matter. It feels there is too much noise and too much content around the music. I don’t really have advice, just trying to avoid overproducing or overexplaining things, and it would be nice to see a bit more space around the music, and a bit less urgency around everything else.

EG: What’s next for Autow Nite Superstore? Where can your fans catch you next?
Autow Nite Superstore: There’s more music in the works and a few shows in the coming months. I’m just trying to keep things simple and not overdo it.
EG: Thank you so much for your time, Thomas! We wish you all the best in the future. Take care!
Autow Nite Superstore: Thanks for having me! Cheers!
