With his Ibiza debut scheduled for 2026 and a new collaboration alongside Monblaire now out, the artist continues shaping a sound rooted in emotion, tension, and dancefloor instinct.

His latest single, ‘Emotions’, brings together nostalgic 80s textures, sensual vocals, and club-focused energy while reflecting the realities of life between cultures and scenes. In this conversation, SPINOFF opens up about the making of the track, balancing creative identities across continents, and what lies ahead this summer.

EG: Hi SPINOFF! Welcome to Electronic Groove. It’s great to have you here with us. Where are you right now, and what kind of energy are you carrying into 2026?

SPINOFF: Thanks for the invite. Right now, I’m based between Madrid and Mexico City, so I feel like I’m constantly moving between different energies and cultures. 2026 feels exciting for me because I’m entering a new stage as an artist. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the studio trying to build a sound that feels emotional but still works in different venues and places around the world. I think this year is about pushing my identity further and connecting with more people through music.

EG: Congratulations on ‘Emotions.’ You and Monblaire come from completely different parts of the world, Mexico and Israel. How did that distance actually shape what ended up on the track?

SPINOFF: Thank you. I think that distance actually became part of the soul of the track. Even though we come from different cultures and environments, we connected through very similar emotions. A lot is happening in the world right now, and music has become this space where we can disconnect from reality for a moment and create something together. That contrast between both worlds gave the track a really emotional and cinematic feeling.

EG: The track pulls from 80s textures and a sensual, nostalgic vocal. When you sat down to make this, did you know it was going in that direction, or did the vocal lead you there?

SPINOFF: Honestly, the vocal changed everything. At first, we were just experimenting with grooves and synths, but once we found that vocal, the whole atmosphere started building itself naturally around it. We leaned into those nostalgic textures and emotional synths because it felt authentic to the feeling we wanted to create. We wanted it to feel sexy, emotional, and a little nostalgic at the same time.

EG: You described ‘Emotions’ as being about escaping reality, even for a moment. How much of your personal environment at the time made it into the production?

SPINOFF: A lot, actually. I think every track captures the energy you’re living through at that moment, even subconsciously. Between traveling, moving between cities, nightlife, and everything happening globally, there was this feeling of wanting to disconnect for a bit and just feel something real through music. That emotional tension definitely made its way into the production.

“Latin culture brings a lot of emotion and rhythm into my music, while Europe has influenced the darker and more atmospheric side of my sound”

EG: Your sound blends indie dance, Latin textures, and house rhythms into something that feels very specific to you. How do you protect that identity when you are working with another producer who has their own strong voice?

SPINOFF: I think collaboration is about finding balance instead of trying to control everything. I always try to bring my own spice and identity into the music, while also leaving space for the other artists’ vision. The goal is not to sound like one person or the other, but to create something that neither of us would have made alone.

EG: You hold residencies in Mexico City, Madrid, and Marbella, and you have played rooms like Silencio in Paris and Gallery Club in London. How do those audiences differ from each other, and does that change how you approach a set?

SPINOFF: Every city has its own energy. In Mexico, people connect a lot through emotion and rhythm; they really let themselves go. Madrid feels very energetic and open-minded musically, while places like Paris or London can be a little more focused on the musical journey and details. I don’t completely change who I am as an artist, but I definitely adapt the storytelling of the set depending on the room and the crowd.

EG: As a Mexican DJ based in Spain, you are operating across two distinct scenes. What does that positioning give you that a producer rooted in one place might not have?

SPINOFF: I think it gives me perspective. Being between two scenes allows me to absorb different influences, sounds, and ways people experience nightlife. Latin culture brings a lot of emotion and rhythm into my music, while Europe has influenced the darker and more atmospheric side of my sound. Having both worlds around me helps me create something that feels more personal and less boxed into one genre.

“We wanted it to feel sexy, emotional, and a little nostalgic at the same time”

EG: What comes next for you? What can your fans expect in the months ahead?

SPINOFF: A lot of new music, honestly. I’ve been working on records that explore different sides of my sound, from more emotional indie dance tracks to heavier club-oriented records. I’ll also be playing in different places around the world and learning from new crowds and cultures. This summer I’ll be debuting in Ibiza, which is something I’m really excited about. The main goal is to keep evolving while staying authentic to what I feel creatively.
