‘Danseur PT 1’ arrives on June 18th via StrataSonic.

Hercules & Love Affair has launched the rollout for its upcoming two-part EP project, ‘Danseur’, with the release of lead single ‘I Get High’.
Out now via StrataSonic, the track marks the first chapter of a seven-track project that will continue with ‘Danseur PT 1’ on June 18th and conclude with ‘Danseur PT 2’ on August 21st. Across the release, Andy Butler returns to the dancefloor while exploring personal themes that have long informed the Hercules & Love Affair catalog.
Created alongside Elín Ey of Hips & Lips and Quinn Whalley of Paranoid London, ‘Danseur’ builds on the collaborative chemistry established during last year’s ‘Someone Else Is Calling’. The project draws influence from acid house, disco, Hi-NRG, and darker club sounds while continuing Butler’s exploration of queer identity and intimacy.
The first single, ‘I Get High’, channels Hi-NRG and new wave influences associated with Patrick Cowley, Giorgio Moroder, and Lime. Speaking about the track, Butler describes it as a call for greater visibility and acceptance of the romantic partners of trans and nonbinary people.
