MUTEK has unveiled the final details of its 27th Montréal edition, combining a six-day festival programme with the return of MUTEK Forum. Taking place from August 25th-30th, 2026, the event will welcome nearly 120 artists from 28 countries alongside more than 100 speakers, researchers, technologists, and cultural practitioners, reinforcing its position as one of the leading international gatherings for electronic music and digital creativity.
This year’s programme spans several key venues across the city, including the Society for Arts and Technology, MTELUS, Maison symphonique, Les Grands Ballets’ Studio-Théâtre, and Esplanade Tranquille. The return to Maison symphonique marks MUTEK’s first takeover of the venue since 2013, while Les Grands Ballets’ Studio-Théâtre joins the festival for the first time as home to the Play series dedicated to audiovisual performance and experimentation.
Nocturne will transform Espace SAT and the Satosphere dome with a late-night schedule pairing tomorrow’s voices with electronic music icons. The events will blend live electronic sets, immersive film, 3D audio, and visual spectacles inside a definitive Montréal landmark for digital art. From August 26th-28th, MUTEK Forum returns under the theme ‘Symbiotic Frequencies’, exploring the intersections of digital creativity, artificial intelligence, immersive technologies, ecology, design, and electronic music. Participants include Jackson 2bears, Katie Hofstadter and Memo Akten, Loretta Sarah Todd, Lou Fauroux, Navid Navab, Uncle Ronnie, and Mindy Seu, alongside a programme of talks, workshops, screenings, performances, and masterclasses.
The 2026 edition also marks a significant expansion of MUTEK Market, creating new opportunities for international delegates, artists, studios, institutions, and creative technology professionals through curated meetings, networking activities, and industry-focused programming. The Forum itself moves into new spaces at Atrium et Studio-Théâtre des Grands Ballets and Édifice Wilder – Espace danse, further expanding its role as a platform for exchange and collaboration.
