Apple Music has increased its subscription prices for the first time since 2022, citing rising licensing costs for streaming platforms.
In the United States, the individual plan has increased from US$ 10.99 to US$ 11.99 per month. The family plan now costs US$ 19.99, up from US$ 16.99, while the student tier has risen from US$ 5.99 to US$ 6.99.
New subscribers will be charged the updated rates immediately. Existing customers will see the increase applied from their next billing cycle.
Apple Music previously raised its prices in 2022 after keeping them unchanged from the platform’s 2015 launch. At the time, the company said the higher fees would also result in increased payments to artists and songwriters.
The change follows further subscription increases across the streaming market, including several adjustments introduced by Spotify over the past three years.
