Pete Herbert has issued an expanded vinyl edition of ‘Far Flung’ through Music for Swimming Pools.
Described as a sonic travelogue, the album brings together tracks conceived and recorded across two decades of journeys, encounters, and locations. Its musical range moves from the laid-back atmosphere of ‘Legzira Sunrise’ and ‘South Seas’ to the deeper, dub-influenced direction of ‘Dear Hector’ and ‘At Zuka’.
The collection also includes the dancefloor-focused ‘Back to Bahia’ and the Don Carlos-inspired ‘Havana Landing’, reflecting Herbert’s long-standing connection to Balearic music, disco, and house.
Herbert’s career spans more than three decades, beginning with his involvement in London’s Atlas Records shop. He has since released and collaborated on more than 400 projects while developing Music for Swimming Pools as a label, radio show, and platform.
