Arky Waters has released his latest single ‘Run It Up’, out now via Mammal Sounds Records.
The Sydney-based producer continues building momentum toward his debut album with a track aimed squarely at club settings. ‘Run It Up’ leans into darker, high-velocity territory, combining elements of 140 bass with detailed sound design.
Constructed as a tool for his live sets, the track blends a four-on-the-floor pulse with a half-time groove. Its core is driven by a lead bassline created using a software emulation of a Moog analogue synthesizer, resulting in a tone that shifts unpredictably throughout.
“I wanted something dark and gritty to cut into my sets. The main bass lead is made with a software copy of a classic Moog analogue synth; I think it provides so much warmth and character. It’s super unpredictable and hard to control, so you end up with these really cool moments where the filter opens up and it really seems to take over the whole track. Was so much fun to make!” says Arky Waters.
The release follows a series of singles previewing his upcoming full-length project, where he explores a range of styles from breakbeat and tech house to bass-driven productions, while maintaining a sound shaped by UK club influences through an Australian perspective.
