Boy Harsher has signed to Atlantic Records and announced its next studio album, ‘Get Mean’, set for release on September 18th, 2026. The electronic duo has also shared the project’s latest single, ‘Hard Beat’.
Formed by Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller, Boy Harsher describes ‘Get Mean’ as a “redemption album” shaped by grief, heartbreak, creative blockages, and familial loss. Matthews described the record as “what I had to give during the most extreme period of my life.”
‘Hard Beat’ follows the previously released ‘Jeans’ and arrives alongside a video directed by the duo with cinematographer Owen Smith-Clark. The track introduces the darker electronic textures that run through the forthcoming album.
‘Get Mean’ will be Boy Harsher’s first full-length release since ‘The Runner’, issued in 2022. The new record follows a turbulent period that included the end of Matthews and Muller’s romantic relationship while their creative partnership continued.
