David Mayer makes his debut on the EG Podcast with a personal mix led by his latest release, ‘Essence,’ out now via SONARA Records.

Raised across Germany, Spain, Norway, and later Berlin, where he settled in 2004, Mayer has built a musical identity shaped by movement, culture, and instinct. His work connects house and techno through a direct, physical pulse, always guided by groove, depth, and a strong sense of musical character.

Across his career, Mayer’s productions have landed on respected imprints such as Connected Frontline, Ouïe, Objektivity, Gruuv, Audiomatique, Keinemusik, and SONARA, the label he co founded alongside Tooker, Jay Kurahashi Sofue, and Nico Stojan.

His new single ‘Essence’ marks a return to a more personal space, drawing from the stripped back energy and warm club focus that have long defined his work.
