Francesco Parente shares his 10 favorite tracks

Francesco Parente started producing at the age of sixteen and soon received support from the most respected artists in the underground scene like Nicole Moudaber and Marco Carola. In 2017 Francesco started playing in the famous clubs in his region followed by international bookings and support from his mentor Loco Dice, leading to releases on labels like Rawtentic, CUFF, and HOT TRAX.

Now, Francesco Parente and Josh Kalker team up with vocalist David Blank as they get set to release ‘Lost In Paradise’ on Hot Creations. To celebrate the drop, EG caught up with Francesco Parente as he selected his 10 favorite tracks.

1. Hot Natured & Ali Love – Benediction – Hot Creations

‘This track has a very special meaning for me. This is the kind I started to listen to and play in early clubs. The deep house of the time, just FANTASTIC. ‘Benediction’ was published on HOT CREATIONS and it has something truly incredible that I would not be able to find anymore. I can think of a lot of memories.’

2. Andrea Giuliani & Luca Rossetti – Tantrum (Original Mix) – Deep Tech Records

‘I started a period in which I listened very often to warm-up music (minimal/deep tech), also because they were the first times I started playing in clubs and I played mainly in the openings where this genre was often used to warm up the night. We traveled very often around 118/120 BPM. Andrea Giuliani & Luca Rossetti are one of the many musical artists who accompanied me.’

3. Cabin Fever – Snapped (Original Mix)

‘Snapped’. Song of an incredible era where the tech-house played at 125 bpm. So I started playing tech-house and I got into festivals.’

4. Compact Grey – Bane (Ron Costa Remix) – Klang Gymnastik

‘This track is one of those that since it came out I can say it’s still inside my current DJ sets. I just can’t get enough of this great groove. It has all the essentials to destroy a super crowded dancefloor. This is so crazy.’

5. Luca Agnelli & Marco Faraone – Be carefull in the break – Etruria Beat

Luca Agnelli was the first DJ/Producer I really admired. He has been a leading artist in my musical career and a great source of inspiration for many years. This track in collaboration with Marco Faraone gave me a new production idea that led me to make tracks much more underground and faster BPM.’

6. Pawn Shop People – Children Of The Rave – DESOLAT

‘A very special track for me because from this period forward I started to embark on a new musical style, a new mood where I perfect more on bass and vocals. I make faster tracks inspired by festivals.’

7. Francesco Parente – Hit The Spot – SURA Music

‘This was a track that I made in a very nice time for me, in the sense that there was a real support from LOCO DICE from which he was a mentor and inspiration for me, both as a person and as a DJ. ‘Hit The Spot’ was one of those tracks that made my name as a DJ/ Producer enter the world of emerging artists. Thanks to it, the first requests for dates abroad and requests from labels began to arrive. The relationship with DICE has strengthened.’

8. Classmatic & Francesco Parente – Viral (Original Mix) – CUFF

‘One of the most beautiful collaborations is just ‘Viral’, a track that drags you from the beginning to the end. In collaboration with Classmatic, I established a wonderful friendship. Cuff was a label that I always wanted to reach.’

9. Francesco Parente & Aguilar (Italy) – Estoy Enamorado – HOTTRAX

‘This track was born in a lockdown period where we had time to stay closed in the studio day and night. And we wanted to make this track that has become a catchphrase of our Emilian areas where we come from. And it also started a passion for Jamie Jones who besides this track has chosen 3 other tracks to be released on his label.’

10. Francesco Parente, Josh Kalker feat. David Blank – Lost In Paradise (Original Mix) – Hot Creations

‘This is a link to the style I started listening to. It reminds me of my entire journey from the beginning to today. And without doing it on purpose it all started with this fabulous label. For this reason, this release that will be released this year has made me very proud of all the hard work I’ve done over the years. And to think that this is only the beginning of a long career enthuses me in a not so different way. A super collaboration with a close friend of mine, Josh Kalker, and the great singer David Blank. Special thanks to you, Jamie Jones! It’s just the beginning of a long road.’
