Glastonbury announces livestream event with Coldplay, Damon Albarn, and more

Transmissions will take place on May 22nd.

Since the news of the cancellation of this year’s edition of Glastonbury, it’s all been rumors about the possibility of holding another more intimate event by the organizers. First, it was revealed that they had registered a new company called Live At Worthy Farm; then we learned that an event with that name was actually being prepared in the same venue where the famous festival takes place. Today, Glastonbury officials have confirmed a streaming event with performances recorded in Somerset and which will be broadcasted on May 22nd, 2021.

Specifically, it will be a five-hour show in which some world-renowned artists and bands such as Coldplay, Damon Albarn, HAIM, IDLES, Jorja Smith, Kano, Michael Kiwanuka, and Wolf Alice will participate in addition to the North American DJ Honey Dijon. Unconfirmed surprise performances are expected as well.

The event can be watched via worthyfarm.live, with tickets going for $27. All proceedings will go to three NGOs that have partnered with Glastonbury, as well as festival promoters as they plan to celebrate the next edition of the festival in 2022.
