Glitterbox is launching a new album entitled ‘Legacy,’ to support Kathy Brown’s chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. The artist was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to her brain. Her daughter, Chanta Joyner, also started a GoFundMe campaign for fundraising.

The ‘Legacy’ album will offer 19 tracks, including iconic songs from Brown’s career and four exclusive remixes by selected producers like Michael Gray, DJ Spen, and Sophie Lloyd. Highlights include Soul Central’s ‘Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)’ and ‘Joy,’ which hit number four on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1999. The single ‘Over You’ by Warren Clarke (Sophie Lloyd Rework) is now available, serving as a preview of the full LP.

Seamus Haji, Defected’s A&R manager, said, “When we found out that Kathy had stage four cancer, she told us that she had never had an album out before and that she’d love to have a body of work in one place.”

In addition to the album release, Glitterbox will host a fundraising event on July 18th, 2024 at Defected’s London Headquarters, with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support. You can grab your tickets are available here.
