Hercules & Love Affair have released their ‘Someone Else Is Calling’ remix package, following the original EP and recent tour run. The new collection brings together reinterpretations by Mr. Fingers, Ciel, Luke Solomon, CPEN, and Mystery Affair.
Available now via StrataSonic, the release is led by ‘Crossed Lines (Mr. Fingers Acid Mix)’, alongside additional versions from Larry Heard, including deep and ambient takes. The package also features reworks of ‘That’s Not How To Love’, ‘Body & Soul’, and the title track.
“Larry Heard was a direct inspiration for the original EP,” says Andy Butler. “So having him on this remix package particularly moved my heart.” Reflecting on the collaboration, Butler adds, “Like when I first heard Frankie Knuckles’ remix, and thought how he truly listened to and felt the music, I had that same experience with Larry’s. I can’t express how grateful I am to have him participate.”
Andy Butler’s Hercules & Love Affair project has shaped contemporary dance music culture since the release of ‘Blind’ in 2008, a track that connected underground house, pop, and queer expression.
