Moog has introduced its latest semi-modular synthesizer, Labyrinth, offering an innovative addition to the world of electronic music. Labyrinth aims to explore musical creativity with the tagline, “How deep does the rabbit hole go?”

This advanced hardware features dual generative sequencers that use chance operations to create melodic sequences. These sequences evolve on their own, producing what Moog describes as a path of sound. While users can set parameters for sequences, the order and rhythm of notes are randomized. However, these can be quantized or assigned to a specific key for musical consistency.

At the core of Labyrinth are two oscillators that generate parallel analog signal paths. According to Moog, the synthesizer excels in adding vibrant tones to static drum patterns or basslines. Whether used solo or as part of an existing setup, the equipment is designed to perform well in live performances and home studios.

The synthesizer also includes a comprehensive patch bay with 32 available patches. This extensive connectivity allows for a wide range of MIDI processing and seamless integration with other modular synths, all controlled by Labyrinth’s robust synthesis options.

Priced at US$770, Labyrinth is now available for purchase. For more detailed specifications and information, visit Moog’s official website.
