The last dANTS at Printworks

After a first pit stop in Bristol on Saturday, the colony landed in the capital for the last dance in Printworks before the closedown.

The past months count numerous accomplishments that have seen showcases across the globe, scattering their “Music is the ANTSwer!” mantra. Running an evocative cast of the underground’s totemic DJs keeps the movement moving, under the auspices of the master of moods himself: Andrea Oliva. He and the British DJ Cloonee were in charge of closing the Press Halls, but let’s start from the beginning of the day.

At midday, both rooms, the main one and Inkwells, opened the doors. Born of London’s debauched underground, duo Maze & Masters starts delivering energy and a crazed journey through organic beats. After a proper warm-up, the Chilean artist and one of the most common ANTS faces, Francisco Allendes, took control with an almost full dancefloor. Francisco was rocking for 90 minutes, testing some of the upcoming tracks on his new own label Canibales. Authentic, and fearless, that’s Syreeta. She shared stunning vibes from the booth and also from the dancefloor where she just moved right after her set was done to keep enjoying the rave. The Dutch Franky Rizardo back-to-back Latmun continued the party, setting the stage for the iconic and Grammy-nominated producer Nic Fanciulli. Nic had ready all his bangers, groovy classics, and edits, especially his upcoming one for A’Studio’s & Polina’s ‘SOS’. He did a remix back in the days under his alter ego alongside Andy Chatterley, Skylark, and at the end of this month, the new version will be out via Defected.

For those who don’t know, Inkwells was the second room from the venue where rising stars were made such as Edd or Florentia, the Swedish DJ and producer based in Berlin, and former Watergate resident DJ La Fleur, Alisha, the dynamic trio Omar Guedar, Blair Suarez, and Adam Myles, also known as Mason Collective and Colombian born The Menendez Brothers, who entertained the crowd all day long. ANTS will return next May to their Saturday residency slot which remains as Ushuaïa’s most popular day party in their 7-day schedule.
