John Summit has announced his upcoming album, CTRL ESCAPE, due April 15th, 2026, via Experts Only and Darkroom Records, alongside the release of its lead single ‘LIGHTS GO OUT’. The project marks a personal and creative shift for the artist, presenting music as both release and resistance.
Following his debut ‘Comfort in Chaos’, the new record builds on its emotional tension—between vice and virtue, pressure and release—now reframed through the lens of breaking from routine. Summit traces his journey from 9–5 monotony to club euphoria, sonically and visually positioning music as a path to collective liberation.
That contrast takes form in lead single ‘LIGHTS GO OUT’, which opens with the lyric “where do we go when the lights go out” before launching into a hybrid of tech house and trap-styled drops. The video reinforces the message, shifting from fluorescent-lit cubicles to rave-fueled freedom.
With ‘CTRL ESCAPE’, Summit expands his sonic range, teasing collaborations with Feid and Julia Wolf as he prepares to roll out a new track every other Wednesday leading up to the release. The drop date—April 15th—doubles as Tax Day in the US, nodding to his own past life as an accountant.
Alongside the album, Summit will debut his Ibiza residency with nine Mondays at [UNVRS], make his UK summer headline debut at Tofte Manor, and return to Ultra Music Festival to close the mainstage during Miami Music Week. Additional appearances include Ultra South Africa, EDC Mexico, Tomorrowland, and the return of Experts Only Festival in New York.
