Iconic UK DJ & producer Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, has announced the release of the next installment of the ‘Back To Mine’ series, due out on November 6th.
The collection revolves around funk and soul, and features a handful of rarities, including Camille Yarborough’s 1975 classic ‘Take Yo Praise’, which was sampled for his 1998 hit single ‘Praise You’.
‘Over the years there has been so much action back at mine, so many friends, lovers, and lunatics who would congregate after the clubs had closed to laugh, share and swap ideas and tunes and generally put the world to rights. This is a collection from the soundtrack of those sessions. Music for the heads rather than just the hips. Straight from the lounge of the funk soul brother’, said Cook in a statement surrounding the release.
The ‘Back To Mine’ series was born back in 1999, meant to showcase a selection of tracks that you would expect to hear at different artists’ homes, and has featured names like Faithless, Nightmares On Wax, New Order, and Pet Shop Boys, among others.
