Renowned composer Hans Zimmer, celebrated for his work in films such as ‘Interstellar’, ‘Inception’, and ‘The Lion King’, is teaming up with AJHSynth. This collaboration aims to revive BBC Maida Vale’s iconic synth collection from the 1960s and 70s.
In this ambitious project, the partners plan to build an unrivaled super-synth. This comprehensive and uncompromising modular system has been meticulously designed from the ground up by Zimmer and AJHSynth. The vision is to create an unmatched tool for audio creation, featuring 40 unique modules covering a broad range of effects, envelopes, oscillators, and filters.
The new synth is named in honor of the BBC’s Maida Vale’s RadioPhonic workshop. This studio inspired numerous electronic musicians during its early years. Zimmer’s recent acquisition of the studio stems from his desire to revive the space that has been the birthplace of countless musical innovations.
Music enthusiasts can anticipate the unveiling of the first fully realized super-synth at the SUPERBOOTH24 music convention in Berlin this May 2024. Find more information and get your tickets here.
